An Each Way bet is actually two bets in one:
- 🥇 A bet on your selection to win
- 🏅 A bet on your selection to be placed (finishing in one of the top positions)
ℹ️ When placing an Each Way bet, the stake is split equally between both bets.

An Each Way bet is actually two bets in one:
- 🥇 A bet on your selection to win
- 🏅 A bet on your selection to finish in the top positions
ℹ️ When placing an Each Way bet, the stake is split equally between both bets.
🧮 Practical example
You bet €10 Each Way on Spain to win the Euros, at odds of 5.00 with a place payout of 1/4 for the Top 4 (semi-finalists).
Your total stake is €10 — €5 on "Win" + €5 on "Place" (Top 4).
| Result | Payout |
|---|---|
| Spain wins the Euros | ✅ Win: €5 × 5.00 = €25 + Place: €5 × (5.00 − 1) × 1/4 + €5 = €10 → Total: €35 |
| Spain reaches the semi-finals (without winning) | ✅ Win: lost (€5) + Place: €5 × (5.00 − 1) × 1/4 + €5 = €10 |
| Spain is eliminated in the quarters or earlier | ❌ Both bets lost — Total: €0 |
How many positions count as "placed"?
This depends on the event and the number of participants. The specific conditions are stated in each offer and are governed by the rules of the relevant sport.
